PR is more than just telling your story through the media. An alternative and equally influential media campaign will use customers to tell your story.
This form of PR, positioning your customers as characters, is very effective when it comes to hyping the quality of your services. Of course, it must be true. Reporters can read through hype when it’s not backed by substance. So how can you do this with your brand?
When Clients or Customers Promote Your Brand
We all know a story is more believable when we hear it through a third source. It’s one thing for me to say MACIAS PR is the best PR firm. It’s better when you meet my clients and they tell you MACIAS PR is the best PR firm based on their media deliverables.
This is a strategy and approach that MACIAS PR frequently takes with our clients. We position their customers or clients, talking with the media about how good their services are.
Let’s use this story in We News as an example. In this story, a college student introduced a client brand directly to customers. She explained how the mobile app helped her through a health insurance crisis. It was a subtle, yet true, drop of information that hits the subconscious.
Typically, I’m not a fan of just a mention. I always tell potential clients we place large features – not just small mentions. But in this situation, the mention – or solution – came from a customer. It also included a hyperlink for future readers to easily check out.
Remember – PR is more than just getting your name in the news. There are different, customized strategies you can take to introduce your brand through the powerful medium of your choice.
