Your presence on the web is likely one of your biggest lead generators. Consumers and potential clients all use the web to research you, your services and your competitors, so if you’re not on the first few pages of Google or Yahoo, you probably won’t get discovered.
Digital PR is one of the most effective way to introduce your business to clients on the web, but I’m not talking about SEO. Specifically, I’m referring to content that creates an online brand where consumers find you with the search engines.
It’s important to go about this strategy the right way or you will be wasting valuable time and resources. In the past week, the Macias PR blog has received a handful of emails from strangers, asking if we would post their content on our blog. Today, this post was inspired from a person with an online PR school, asking if we would post their infographic.
That’s not how content marketing is executed.
How to use Content Marketing for SEO
Content plays a significant role with potential clients finding you on the web, but it’s not just any content (blogs, press releases, etc), and it’s not just spray painted on a wall. It must be quality, relevant and targeted content focused around key terms that receive higher play with the search engines.
An online PR campaign must be consistent, targeted, strategic and smart. Know where your clients are and how they are finding you. Use analytics and web master to identify the key terms they are using to find you and produce quality content.
It does work. And if you don’t believe me, just think of how you find us. More than likely, you found us on the first page of Google or Yahoo from our established content. Let us know if you would like to discuss how online PR can improve your SEO. It goes hand-in-hand with quality PR execution.
