One of our nonprofit clients went to a Google marketing conference and shared with me some of the best takeaways he heard. One of the boldest statements came from a Google executive who told the crowd that in the future, there will be no brands.
It seems hard to believe that brands won’t matter in the future, but it makes sense. Yes, household names, like McDonalds, Starbucks and Netflix will continue to be in our subconscious. However, among smaller brands – especially in the B2B sector – will become more susceptible to branding from Google. Let me break it down further.
The Top Tech PR Firms on the Web
I always say I didn’t grow up in PR. I grew up inside the media. Still, you would think I would know the names of the biggest PR firms out there. Honestly, I can name less than a handful. Some of these PR firms are our competitors, yet I need to Google and research them just like you do.
And when you go to Google to research PR firms in your industry, what do you do? You follow Google’s advice.
If you’re in healthcare, Google might suggest, Best Healthcare PR firms or Best healthcare pr firms nyc. You follow the leader and the branding begins on the first page of Google.
Insert your industry into that example. Are you a law firm? Maybe you’re a popular sports bar. The same approach to branding occurs, regardless of industry.
Why Reputation is the Future of PR
Your brand is more powerful than any advertising campaign. Consumers are now conditioned to research their products and services before they buy.
We turn to the web, Google and consumer reviews to shape our decision on whether we should buy a product. And that’s why PR will become even more powerful in the near future as it continues to shape consumers decisions on what they buy.
It’s good news for MACIAS PR. Public relations is the best strategy to improving any reputation – regardless of industry. Want to hear how MACIAS PR can help your brand or reputation? Send us a note here.
