Memorial Day is right around the corner, but MACIAS PR is not in vacation mode. We are still securing media placements for our clients with magazines, newspapers and TV.
The week leading up to Memorial Day Weekend is notoriously difficult when it comes to securing media placements. I can say from experience, TV newsrooms are understaffed as reporters, producers and photographers request vacation days to maximize the long holiday weekend.
Despite that obstacle, MACIAS PR secured two TV segments for clients in Baltimore and Philadelphia. We also secured a story with the largest newspaper in Houston. And our clients are in two national magazines. You can see those placements in the above photo.
What are the best days to pitch reporters?
There are definitely better times and days to pitch reporters in TV, print and magazines. I won’t give away our insider strategy and approach, but I will tell you MACIAS PR leverages my experience in the media. We apply tactics that I learned during my career with NBC and CBS to get in front of reporters.
We also avoid the worst times when we know reporters aren’t receptive. As an Executive Producer with NBC, I saw it up close when reporters and producers were busy and full of free time. I always tried to approach them when I knew they weren’t under deadline. And today, with my PR firm, our team takes the same approach. It’s the little things that close the deal.
