How to Reach New Markets – Tapping into the Growing Hispanic Market

Hispanics are the fastest growing demographic yet they are frequently overlooked as a consumer market when it comes to PR.

The US Census Bureau says there are currently more than 57 million Hispanics in the United States, yet this group of consumers only has only two major sources for national news – Univision and Telemundo. Yes, there are smaller, local and cable outlets – like CNN en Espanol and Azteca – but those news organizations don’t have the same reach.

If you get your product or service on Univision or Telemundo, you’ve effectively reached roughly half of the Hispanic market.

MACIAS PR Secures TV Segment with Univision

Univision is the leading Spanish-language media market when it comes to revenues, ratings and stations owned. For the past five years, Univision has held 66 percent of the Hispanic market in the United States and has almost double the monthly web visits than Telemundo.

MACIAS PR recently secured a TV segment for our financial client on Univision. Hispanics make up a large portion of their client-base, providing a very targeted media placement.

Consumer surveys show Hispanics are more loyal to a brand or product. This marketing strategy is especially effective when you speak to Hispanics in their own language.

The Univision segment – “En Tu Comunidad” – is a weekly program that features segments on nonprofits. In this TV segment, MACIAS PR positioned the client as a safe alternative lending source.
